Business information: Wood framing and concrete forming Business address: 35111 Christina Place, Abbotsford BC V2S 8H1 Work Location: Vancouver, BC: depending on the clients’ locations Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites • Survey building locations and levels • Instruct apprentices • Supervise other workers • Estimate materials • Assess existing conditions of timber and masonry structures • Plan a safe and effective means of carrying out the architectural and structural requirements Requirements: -Education: Completion of high school is required - A trade certificate for the position is required - Experience: The necessary to be certified. No further experience required as trade certificate is mandatory Salary: $27.00 to $28.00 hourly , 40 Hours per week Benefits: We provide a $500.00 per year health trust.
