Standard Insulation & Siding Ltd. is currently looking for two permanent full-time Carpenters Location: Unit 2122 -83...th street, Surrey, BC V3W 8J9 Position : Carpenter Compensation: $25.00 per hour Hours/per week: 40 hrs Position Available: 2 Benefit: Two Weeks paid Vacation Anticipated start date: As soon as possible Job duties and responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments • Supervise apprentices and other construction workers • Prepare cost estimates for clients. Skills Requirements: 2 or more years’ experience as a carpenter Ability to use hand tools and power tools Able to setup and operate table saw, ban saw, overhead router and edge banding equipment Comfortable reading & interpreting blueprints and shop drawings Education: Completion of Secondary School will be an asset.
