Work location also depends on client’s location within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments Additional skills: • Prepare tenders and quotations • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites • Survey building locations and levels • Instruct apprentices • Supervise other workers • Estimate costs and materials Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: • Tight deadlines • Physically demanding • Bending, crouching, kneeling • Handling heavy loads • Large workload • Overtime required • Combination of sitting, standing, walking Requirements: Education: Completion of high school Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience required If candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience a post-secondary certificate is required. Salary: $26.50 to $27.50 Hourly, 40 to 45 Hours per week Important Information - Work schedule will be from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. - This position must specialize in wood carving mouldings.
