Carpenter Job in Barrie, Ontario

Job description Roles and responsibilities: Monitoring multiple construction sites for adequate staffing levels. Site direction to all related sub trades. Municipality representation for periodic site inspections. Field administration: monitoring timesheets submission, manage labour quantities, communicate effectively with all site supervisors and job foremen. Building code interpretation and compliance. Leading carpentry crew / on the tools as necessary. Forming / layouts, etc. Trim work / rough carpentry / various. Drawing interpretation. Must have the foresight to communicate with the project manager on any item requiring client input. Ensure all schedules set by project managers are met. Meet with clients in parallel with Project Managers to discuss upcoming items. Project close-out: ensure sites are prepared for final inspections, deficiencies addressed, warranty work and site demobilization. Ensure employment and safety legislation are focused and compliant, including all emergency procedures and record-keeping requirements. Employee reviews and any required disciplinary action. Management of the Apprenticeship Training Program. Education and Professional Requirements: Journeyman certificate and or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline and asset. 5 years of supervision experience in commercial or high end residential construction. In-depth knowledge of and experience in construction industry and company operations , including building materials, construction specifications and methods and procedures. Understanding of project scope and ability to apply basic engineering principles and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules. Proficient in Microsoft Office, proficiency with scheduling software an asset. Must have valid driver`s license and be willing to travel the district as required. Basic Health and Safety Training an asset. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits and competitive wage. Salary to be negotiated.
