Full-service, General Construction company in New York City is seeking a High-End Finish Carpenter / Renovation Specialist with 5 Years of Experience. We are a rapidly growing company working on Commercial and Residential Projects. This is a position for a reliable candidate who is looking for a job they can advance their craftsmanship skills in. We work on a wide range of Projects including High-End Bathroom Kitchen Gut Renovations, Commercial Build Outs, Full Apartment Renovations Façade restoration Waterproofing Projects. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, efficient carpenter who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and is looking for long term growth. The ideal candidate possesses the confidence and collaborative problem-solving skills, as well as knowing how to step back and look at the big picture in challenging situations. Must be able to work alone or with a team and have a thorough understanding of renovation/remodeling/repair processes *** We take pride in our finished product and insist on a safe, collaborative work environment. You must be able to work with all kinds of people, without ego. ABOUT US: We are an established and very busy high-end residential general contracting company with several active projects in Manhattan. ABOUT YOU: You are energetic, responsive and have a can-do attitude. You take pride in the quality of your workmanship and enjoy getting projects completed. You pay attention to the details of your work. You are able to follow instructions and prioritize tasks. You are also able to work independently and keep a job moving along without someone having to tell you what to do. You present yourself professionally and work well with other carpenters and trades on the job site. You enjoy being part of a team. You are reliable, and you show up on time. General Work Responsibilities Include: Cabinet Mill Work Installation Window, Door Hardware Installation Trim Work Casing Installation Interior Exterior Light Gauge Framing Drywall Installation Acoustical Batt Insulation Installation Floor Wall Tile Installation Fixture Installation Floor Installation Ability to Read Understand Architectural Lay Out Drawings You will be expected to perform a skills test in these areas. Requirements: Must have OSHA 30 hour. MUST be able to work well with a team, get to work on time, and act professionally. Pictures of past work required. References highly recommend but not required. Must be a U.S. citizen OR have a work authorization card Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner. Perform various manual and skilled labor tasks including but not limited to flooring, framing, excavation, concrete, tiling, drywall, finishing etc. Must have a high level of finish in all aspects of work. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods. Overseeing of material unloading, inventory and proper storage of doors, door hardware, cabinets, and trim deliveries. Preferably a College graduate. Self-motivator and a team player. Excellent communication skills. Ability to anticipate problems, troubleshoot and create a viable solution to solve problems. Must have finishing experience and skills required to install finished millwork, doors, base, and hardware. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work within an established construction organization and to follow through on tasks provided Must have similar/current experience with other named high-end residential contractors and to be able to read blueprints Valid drivers license required Understand and communicate in English - both in person and via phone/text message Daily communicating & scheduling with subcontractors, vendors, and building management. Daily communicating with project manager and site supervisor, ensuring all materials and tools are on-site. Daily project documentation. Maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must be a rounded person with knowledge of all aspects of construction. Must be high-level finish carpenter. Must be able to take command and find solutions. Must be punctual (on-time is late, early is on-site). Must maintain an immaculately clean, well protected, and safe job-site. Must maintain a positive attitude and motivate on-site team. Must be clean cut, maintain a professional appearance, and be able to work under pressure. Must have ALL of your own tools Compensation is Based on Experience Must be able to establish all benchmarks, axis lines and be able to use all the latest laser technology for the execution of work Experience: Carpentry: 5 Years (Required) construction: 5 Years (Required) Job Type: Full-time Additional Compensation: Project Incentives based on Individual Team Performance. 1 Week Paid Vacation after 12 Months of Employment. 2 Weeks Paid Vacation after 24 Months of Employment. 5 Paid Days of Sick Leave Annually. 6 Paid Holidays. WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Project Dependent). Position available immediately.
