Carpenter Job in Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore local home improvement company looking for a qualified carpenter to plan, organize, supervise, and perform journey-man rough and finish carpentry. Knowledge of all phases of home improvements in a must. The ideal candidate will also have a knowledge of wood properties and is able to work with various levels of supervision. Must be able to pass drug test, background check, and have reliable transportation. Job locations vary around Baltimore Maryland. Duties Include: Reviews project plans Estimates time, material, equipment and supplies needed Develops work schedules and crew assignments Inspect work areas to insure job is complete as agreed Evaluate staff performance Completes time sheets, accident reports, and work orders Train staff in related work assignments Maintains record of operation Monitors inventories and request supplies and equipment Insures work areas are properly maintained Perform rough and finish carpentry including additions and remodels Install floors, wall coverings, ceiling materials, paneling, plastic laminates and hardware Repair broken windows, doors, walls, ceilings and furniture Install door jambs and doors Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Vocational School 2 Years Experience as a Journeyman Carpenter One Year Supervisory Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to effectively supervise skilled workers Ability to interpret and work from sketches, drawings, plans Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to create project material and labor estimates Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other personnel Ability to take measurements and calculate the size or amount of material needed Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements Ability to use electrical and manual equipment and measuring tools
