Type of Employment: Full Time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Assist to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements Assist to measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Identifying areas of weakness and fixing problems in damaged structures Ensuring finished structures are safe and can weather some damage Assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, load, unload and check deliveries and undertaking tasks to assisting carpenter generally Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation Assist carpenters in their duties Perform work as directed by the supervisor Work with materials and hardware power tools Transport materials to different worksites Requirements: Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 1 year of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate is required. Work under different weather conditions Driver’s license type 5 is required Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Overtime required, Physically demanding, Tight deadlines, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods Personal Suitability: Accurate, Efficient interpersonal skills, Judgement, Team player, Initiative, Organized Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty, Outdoors Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
