It is rare one encounters a standout, accomplished talent like Anthony Alexander in the home repair and reconstruction business. I have hired many craftsmen and carpenters over the twenty-plus years I have lived here in Asheville, and I can easily rate Anthony’s overall work as highly skillful, and his work ethic as superlative. The only difficulty I experienced with Anthony, was remembering which of his names came first. Like many of our Supreme Court Justices in history, his full name is interchangeable: Anthony Alexander, or Alexander Anthony. But, I digress… This is one letter of recommendation I am very pleased to write. Anthony is a consummate professional. He is proficient in his craft and is a perfectionist in applying his knowledge to the task at hand. I hired Anthony to repair and reconstruct my deck (2000 sq. ft.), which suffered from an incompetent, unskilled carpenter (who had excellent reviews on “Thumbtack”) whom I had hired earlier to resurface, sand and stain my deck. Anthony was completely uncowed by the extensive damage and substandard workmanship left for him to repair. Anthony provided his estimate in a very timely manner. His cost estimate was more than fair. He did exceed his initial estimate as to how much time he would need to complete the job, but I had thought, myself, that it was going to take him a little longer than he thought – the deck was truly a disaster! Anthony worked as though this was the most important job in his life. He arrived at my home every day from start to finish (except for weekends). He never left me guessing if he would come, and, if he was going to be late (which was rare), he always let me know well ahead of his scheduled arrival. This should be the clincher: After I had already paid in full, Anthony returned to fix areas I wished to change. He spent a full day on these adjustments and charged only for work that fell outside our original contract. He is the only craftsman who has ever done that in my experience. The end result of Anthony’s work is breath-taking. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I gave Anthony some “before” and “after” photographs which I hope he shares with you.
