As a Journeyman Carpenter your primary roles and responsibilities include: - Building, repairing, and installing structures including but not limited to: partitions, structural components, doors &windows, roofing, flooring, walls & ceilings, cabinetry and other items normal to the carpentry trade in accordance with established practices and standards. - Assisting in the planning and co-ordination of projects including determining material quantities and potential job timelines. - Ensuring all work is done in accordance to standard practices, design specifications and provincial building codes. - Providing emergency response and corrective action for urgent building problems. - Communicating with consultants, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and other departments on projects. - Completing and documenting work orders including time and materials and submitting to the Production department. - Training, and evaluating apprentices and other assigned staff, as required. - Any and all other duties as assigned. Working Hours: This is a full-time position with 8 working hours a day; Monday -- Friday. Compensation: This position offers a competitive wage which will be negotiated based on experience.
