My name is Fred Osburn I have 10 yr. experience I do have an out of state phone # because I'm not originally from here. I've been here 2.5 yrs and live the Houston area y'all have made my family very welcome since I've been here I've remodeled 7 flood homes and worked on many many more. Unfortunately it has flooded 3x since i been here and Harvey was a disaster. I live being able to help get people back in there homes like it never happened or even give them upgrades from what they had before. It's a great feeling helping serve the Texas community. Anywho about my career I started before I left high school around 16yr old helping in the summers with just labor that they would allow. Once i turned 18 i moved and was living in Carbondale Illinois. I don after moving got involved in the masonry apprenticeship for the union. This is where I learned fountain, concrete, brick, block, stone walls, driveway, sidewalk, huge retaining walls, for those of you who don't know up north basements are very popular and the eventually leak so i was tucpointing, doing cinder block pillers, pouring footing for trailer houses. This went on for 19 months and I went back home 4hr north to a small town. I started on a tear off crew for a roofing company 4 months later i was running a crew of 5 on the shingle laying crew and next thing i was supervisor during a hail storm and we replaced 360 roofs 1 year with 1 crew ahead of us prepping roofs we did 2/day sometimes. By 21yrs old leading guys twice my age doing very well. During this time I learned asphalt shingles, architectural, 3 tab, metal, rolled, tar moped, flat concrete, wooden cedar shake shingles. As you know winters are hard up there so during some winters i started learning all the inside work. Drywall, tape, float, texture, paint, interior doors, door casing, base board, window trim, laminate floors, basic electrical, basic plumbing, appliance installs, bathtubs install, showers with fiberglass base, or with sand top concrete and tile, I worked with the same company for 2.5 years and moved about an hour south of there to a little bigger city. This is where I met an older guy in his mid to late 50's perfectionist amazing guy he gaff an ad in the paper needing help with a roof and i was be to the area it was perfect. I helped him in this and it was finished in 2 days he was very impressed and gave me a raise to 18hr. Well he didn't roof much but he wanted me to stay and work for him so I did and this guys the reason I'm who I am. He worked out all the little kinks and flaws in my weak areas. He thought me to do everything the right way and take pride in all of it. So I then got 2 yrs experience building custom cabinets, refinishing old barn wood and building custom furniture, on site entertainment centers, butcher's pantry, in home library book shelves, open face cabinets, stair tread, hand rail, chair rail, landings, platforms, crown molding the correct way with coping saw, he showed me the difference in what materials get used for certain things, and why that's so important. I learned my siding, exterior doors, sliding, French, folding barn, garage, celler, storm shelter, 4 hour commercial firewall, and screen doors. Windows, skylights, basement, fire escape, glass block shower windows. Along with that came framing, porches, decks, handicap ramps, fences, Gates, sheds, t1-11 storage sheds, everything you could imagine we were building it and making it look unbelievable. That's just a little about what I know I've learned more along the way faster more efficient ways and the kitchens and bathrooms habe cone along way from the first ones 9 years ago. Like I said I appreciate helping and making people enjoy the environment the live in. I'm reliable, respectable, fun, and get along with all people, i enjoy doing what i do!
