Experienced Asst. Shop Manager/ Lead Carpenter & Installer -Commercial & Industrial – 4 years min. Immediate hire: Temp to Perm – (Apopka, only local applicants, apply) Compensation: $18-$20 per hour -OT/ weekends & nights as required Position Overview: • The Assistant Shop Manager/Lead Carpenter & Installer (ASM-LCI) assists the Shop Manager with day-to-day production activities within the carpentry shop. • Must be able to lead and assign duties to a 5 – 6 person installation crew. • Communicate with the client and/or general superintendent to convey any installation challenges or coordination items. • Primarily responsible for leading 3rd shift installation crews and must be able to work, direct, and lead a team of carpenters. ¬¬¬ Requirements: • Good people skills with a commitment to customer satisfaction • Ability to efficiently communicate with the client and/or general superintendent to convey any installation challenges or coordination items • Perform physical activities, lifting equipment up to 50 lbs unassisted, bending, climbing (ladders and scaffolding), standing and waling for up to 4 hours. Use manual tool & power equipment. • Willing to submit to initial drug screening • Pass a background check Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Skilled craftsman who is familiar and can work with laminate, wood, and plastics to finish high and medium end custom cabinets. 2. Must have great craftsmanship with wood products and be self-sufficient to fabricate a project while receiving little direction or supervision. 3. Ability to read blueprints, work from shop drawings, and read/understand design drawings to fabricate custom millwork products. 4. Ability to verify dimensions and build from design drawings with attention to detail and quality. 5. Must have good fabrication techniques and be able to work with a team to complete repetitive processes in the same manner each time. 6. Must be able to follow directions and be able to analyze a project/product to determine if there are any flaws or quality issues. 7. Must be well versed in modern manufacturing & production techniques such as a CNC wood router, beam saw, edgebander, joiners, panel saw, joiners, and shapers. 8. Ability to lead an installation team and assign duties to a 5 – 6 person installation crew, while supervising the quality and completion of the tasks assigned. 9. Must be able to think and problem solve in the field, to address minor installation issues and keep the project install team on-track. 10. Ability to communicate any installation challenges or coordination items with the on-site general superintendent or client efficiently and professionally. 11. Ensures that proper personal protection equipment is worn by installation crew at all times and that the job site work area is cleaned daily. 12. Ensures that proper safety practices and procedures are used, including proper disposal of hazardous/toxic liquids or materials. Education: High School education or trade school apprenticeship p program that includes theory and on-the-job work. This is a great opportunity for the right candidates. We are getting busy!!
