First of all my name is Garrett Chambers I have been actively involved in carpentry work since 2002. Background history: I grew up on a farm in Illinois building all sorts of building structures, work benches and wooden fences. As I become more accustomed to the craft I moved over to house restoration and flipping houses doing everything from remodeling the layouts to designing and creating custom fit hand crafted counters shelving and anything that is wood related. After flipping 4 houses, I saw a need for fixing older antique furniture and making it look brand new again. I have worked on pieces dating back to 1864 with a value of over $140,000 to more modern-style antique replicas. Currently my main focus is designing and building custom pieces that are "antique inspired". Everything is made to order, and is all 100% hand crafted. Items I have recently designed and built are fireplace mantles with claw feet, a 32.5sqft counterspace bar rustic styles banisters and railings, and one of my favorites, custom recording studio desks. I regularly go to antique furniture stores and find pieces that would look amazing with some TLC, so I purchase them and restore them to their natural beauty. I have sold pieces purchased for $100 for over 5grand. The work I do is very detailed and time-period accurate for that piece. For restorations I do in-home servicing, as most restorations I do for out-calls can be completed in a day. For custom furniture builds it can take a turn around of 2-3weeks depending on the size of the piece. Remember all the work is done by hand, the corbels, onlays and any etching detail you request is all carved or etched by hand. How much does this work cost? My prices are extremely reasonable and have never had a complaint once a client sees the final project. Most times the client will even tip generously because they are thrilled with their new custom piece. Since all my work is 'by request' there is no general upfront charge.
